The area’s arts and education communities share our profound sadness over the passing of Danny Peak, DIAE’s outstanding executive director, who died when he was struck by a car while jogging in Wilmington on September 7.
Danny’s work touched the lives of countless students and teachers through the many innovative DIAE residencies and programs that brought—and continue to bring—arts participation experiences into Delaware schools and classrooms. Danny’s commitment to providing young people with opportunities to engage in the visual and performing arts was unmatched.
At DIAE we continue to mourn our loss and we know that Danny will be very difficult to replace. We also understand that the best way to honor his legacy is to continue his work. To that end, the staff and Board of Directors of DIAE are taking appropriate steps to ensure that our commitments are met and our mission—to which Danny was so dedicated—is fulfilled.
