Constanza Madariaga
Visual Art

My name is Constanza Madariaga, also known as Cony Madariaga, Delaware-based Artist, Born in Santiago Chile. I Have been in love with Art since I was a child.  Creating has been my therapy, and safe space to express myself throughout my lifetime. Being able to have access to art classes in middle school and high school allowed me to explore different mediums and techniques.  Although I did not continue my education in the Arts, I have always gravitated to it, and always made a space in my life to be able to create. In 2019 I had my first exhibition, and since then have participated in several exhibitions in Delaware and surrounding cities. Most recently I was awarded the 2023 Artist Fellowship through the Delaware Divisions of the Arts, as well as the 2023/2024 Artist in Residency at the Delaware Contemporary Museum.

My work varies in its concepts, from portraits, still life, line work, and abstract impressions. My most used medium is acrylic paint, soft and oil pastels. I often incorporate other mediums such as markers and watercolors into my work. I enjoy having access to different mediums when I am creating. Painting and Drawing has always been a very personal experience for me, and I have enjoyed being able to share some of those intimate feelings in my life with others. It brings me joy to know that I can bond with others through my work.
